On behalf of an international insurance group, we are supporting the search for a Capital Modelling Actuarial Analyst (m/w/d) to join their Capital Management function. This opportunity stands out due to its steep learning curve, strong technical exposure, and the chance to take ownership and responsibility from day one within a highly skilled Capital Management environment. You can also be based in London or Brussels 

Responsibilites:

  • Operate and maintain the team’s economic scenario tooling, ensuring accurate calibration and full integration into the Internal Model for regulatory and internal reporting.
  • Analyse the organisation’s investment portfolio to verify alignment with the defined risk appetite, and assess valuation, performance, and risk characteristics.
  • Review and validate reinsurance arrangements to identify opportunities for capital efficiency, including running sensitivity and stress tests.
  • Provide capital-modelling insights during the annual planning cycle, supporting financial target setting (e.g., loss ratios and return-on-capital analysis).
  • Lead or contribute to deep-dive reviews aimed at improving capital efficiency across various risk types within both the Internal Model and the Standard Formula.
  • Support the preparation of annual reporting materials, such as Profit & Loss analyses, capital requirement summaries, and other regulatory documents.
  • Gain broad exposure to Internal Model and Standard Formula frameworks, working closely with risk, actuarial, finance, and investment teams.

Your Background: 

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in actuarial, risk, capital modelling, or a related quantitative insurance function
  • Solid understanding of Solvency II, ideally with exposure to the Internal Model or Standard Formula
  • Practical experience with modelling or analytical tools such as Tyche, SQL, R, Python, or comparable actuarial software
  • Strong quantitative background with the ability to interpret and communicate complex modelling results
  • Comfortable working in a technical environment and contributing to discussions across actuarial, risk, finance, and investment teams
  • Ability to take ownership quickly and thrive in a role with a steep learning curve and early responsibility
  • Proactive, analytical mindset with a desire to contribute to continuous model and process improvements
  • Experience within an international insurance or reinsurance environment is advantageous
