A fast-growing manufacturer of complex medical and laboratory automation systems is seeking a Director of Global Transportation & Logistics to lead global freight, trade compliance, and logistics operations across North America and Europe, with expansion into Asia underway.
Key Responsibilities
Own global transportation strategy and carrier partnerships
Manage domestic and international shipping across all modes (air, ocean, LTL, FTL, parcel, white glove)
Lead logistics for oversized, heavy, hazardous, and high-value equipment
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs, tariffs, and export controls
Drive on-time delivery, cost control, and logistics performance metrics
Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Planning, Service, and Finance
Manage a small warehouse operation via an offsite 3PL
Lead and develop a logistics team (5–7 direct reports)
Qualifications
5–10 years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain leadership
Experience in medical devices, scientific instrumentation, robotics, or capital equipment preferred
Strong knowledge of global shipping, Incoterms, and trade compliance
Proven carrier negotiation and vendor management experience
ERP/TMS proficiency and strong execution mindset
