A fast-growing manufacturer of complex medical and laboratory automation systems is seeking a Director of Global Transportation & Logistics to lead global freight, trade compliance, and logistics operations across North America and Europe, with expansion into Asia underway.

Key Responsibilities

• Own global transportation strategy and carrier partnerships

• Manage domestic and international shipping across all modes (air, ocean, LTL, FTL, parcel, white glove)

• Lead logistics for oversized, heavy, hazardous, and high-value equipment

• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs, tariffs, and export controls

• Drive on-time delivery, cost control, and logistics performance metrics

• Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Planning, Service, and Finance

• Manage a small warehouse operation via an offsite 3PL

• Lead and develop a logistics team (5–7 direct reports)

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain leadership

• Experience in medical devices, scientific instrumentation, robotics, or capital equipment preferred

• Strong knowledge of global shipping, Incoterms, and trade compliance

• Proven carrier negotiation and vendor management experience

• ERP/TMS proficiency and strong execution mindset
