What You’ll Do

  • Independently validate fraud, financial crimes, and AML/BSA models, applying a range of statistical and quantitative testing methods
  • Assess whether model logic and underlying assumptions hold up, and weigh alternative modeling approaches where relevant
  • Build and run test plans to confirm models perform as intended, and track ongoing model performance over time
  • Act as a thought partner to model owners, developers, business users, and other risk analysts throughout the model lifecycle
  • Bring rigor to the evaluation of vendor-built models, helping the business independently assess and govern third-party model risk

What You Bring

  • Master’s in Statistics, Econometrics, Computational Finance, Applied Math, or a related quantitative field
  • 3+ years validating models (PhD coursework/research can count toward this experience requirement)
  • Solid grasp of Model Risk Management regulatory expectations, with experience supporting exam or audit deliverables
  • A naturally skeptical, detail-driven mindset, comfortable pushing back on both internal and vendor-developed models
  • Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to translate technical modeling concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of fraud and AML/BSA modeling methodologies

Nice to Have

  • PhD in Statistics, Econometrics, Computational Finance, Applied Math, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant model validation experience

  • Strong analytical and research instincts; comfortable drawing conclusions from data
  • Able to stay organized and deliver under deadline pressure
  • Clear communicator, verbally and in writing
