Substation Physical Engineer

JCW Group is partnering with a leading energy company delivering advanced utility projects. We’re seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to lead physical design, provide technical direction, and manage projects from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead physical design for substations, BESS, and solar collector projects up to 500kV

• Develop arrangement packages, grounding designs, and construction-ready deliverables

• Collaborate with client engineers, construction teams, and multidisciplinary design staff

• Mentor junior engineers and designers, reviewing deliverables for accuracy and compliance

• Support project scopes, estimates, schedules, and budget management

What We’re Looking For:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year)

• 5–7+ years’ experience in substation physical design and utility projects

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Utility industry experience highly desired
