Process Automation Engineer

We’re supporting a global life sciences company in a major automation program. The initiative is focused on standardizing and modernizing automation systems across multiple manufacturing sites, enhancing process integration, and preparing facilities for future digitalization and data connectivity.

You’ll join a global organization delivering automation projects at site level, working closely with global leads and local engineering teams. The position is hands-on and technically driven – ideal for an automation professional who thrives in complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site Process Automation Lead, overseeing local project execution.
• Ensure alignment with global automation standards and architecture.
• Coordinate all automation-related workstreams, including system integration and vendor engagement.
• Support both stand-alone automation initiatives and automation workstreams within larger site projects (expansions, upgrades, or tech transfers).

Technical Environment

• PLC: Rockwell (US sites), Siemens (Europe)
• BMS: Siemens Desigo, COPA, Data Zenon
• SCADA: Deployed across multiple sites

Profile

• Proven automation project leadership experience in life sciences manufacturing
• Strong understanding of process automation and system integration
• Confident operating within global, cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills in English (French or Spanish a plus)

• Rate: $85-90/hr + travel expenses
• Location: 100% on-site in the Greater KC Area
