About the Role

As Manager, Sustainability Compliance, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the company’s trading operations comply with international sustainability standards. You’ll lead a team of four and work closely with the Director of Sustainability and Operations to strengthen and streamline the compliance framework globally.

This is a hands-on compliance position with the strategic responsibility of building, optimizing, and automating compliance processes—potentially integrating AI solutions to improve efficiency. You’ll also act as an internal advisor, supporting trading teams with compliance insights to guide business decisions and future investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team responsible for sustainability and compliance activities across global markets (APAC, EMEA, Americas).
• Ensure adherence to international sustainability certification standards, including ISCC and RedCert.
• Oversee compliance for products such as biofuels, biomethane, and other renewable commodities.
• Design, implement, and automate compliance processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with business units to provide strategic compliance advice that supports trading and investment decisions.
• Monitor evolving regulations and sustainability frameworks to ensure continuous compliance.
• Act as a key liaison with certification bodies and external auditors.

What We’re Looking For

• 8–10+ years of experience in sustainability compliance, preferably within biofuels, biomethane, or renewable energy trading.
• Strong understanding of ISCC and RedCert certifications (non-negotiable).
• Proven ability to manage and mentor a small team.
• Experience developing or optimizing compliance frameworks, ideally with automation or technology integration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a global business environment.
• Open to candidates based outside the Netherlands (relocation assistance provided).
