We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established insurance / reinsurance organisation for an experienced Underwriter – International Client & Market Development (m/w/d). This role is ideally suited for individuals who are motivated to build something from the ground up, take ownership, and operate with a high degree of autonomy and scope for shaping and developing markets and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage and further develop existing client relationships while actively contributing to new business acquisition
• Take full responsibility for the underwriting, analysis and steering of the assigned portfolio
• Conduct negotiations with cedants and reinsurance brokers on terms, conditions and structures
• Review reinsurance submissions and determine pricing based on actuarial principles
• Analyse primary insurance and reinsurance market developments as well as competitive dynamics
• Prepare and maintain all underwriting-related correspondence and client documentation
• Assess and estimate underwriting and portfolio results for the responsible market segment
• Provide professional support in internal projects and strategic initiatives

Profile

• Completed commercial and/or academic education
• Several years of professional experience in (re)insurance underwriting
• Very good command of French and English; Spanish skills are a plus
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle complex discussions
• Confident and professional approach when dealing with clients and business partners
• High level of commitment, reliability and ability to work effectively within a team
• Willingness to travel internationally
