Construction Manager – Transmission & Substation

We’re working with a well-established engineering consulting firm supporting major utilities in the Midwest. They deliver high-quality transmission and substation projects while ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability across power delivery systems.

What You Will Do

• Oversee and inspect contractors performing work on transmission and substation projects in the Chicago area.
• Submit inspection and progress reports following site visits, ensuring work meets utility and project standards.
• Support ongoing projects, occasionally with intermittent work periods between assignments.

Required Experience

• Experience as a Construction Manager, Inspector, or Lineman on transmission or substation projects.
• Familiarity with utility operations, safety standards, and contractor oversight, ideally with previous utility experience.
• Comfortable with intermittent project work and local to the Chicago area.
