The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer with an established practice and strong client relationships to join a respected Swiss law firm and play a meaningful role in its continued development.

The successful candidate will be expected to bring a strong track record in their area of expertise, together with a commercially minded approach and the ability to develop and maintain high-quality client relationships.

The role offers considerable autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of the Basel office, while working alongside experienced colleagues across a range of complementary practice areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise Swiss and international clients on complex legal and commercial matters.
• Manage and further develop an established client portfolio.
• Build and expand relationships with companies, entrepreneurs and other key stakeholders.
• Lead significant transactions, mandates and client engagements within your area of expertise.
• Contribute to the strategic and commercial development of the firm’s Basel practice.
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers and contribute to the firm’s collaborative culture.
• Work closely with colleagues across different practice areas to provide integrated advice to clients.
• Represent the firm externally and contribute to its profile within the Swiss and international legal market.

Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in lawyers who can demonstrate:

• Swiss legal qualification and significant post-qualification experience.
• A strong track record within a recognised Swiss or international law firm.
• An established client following and demonstrable business-development capabilities.
• Excellent knowledge of Swiss law and the ability to advise sophisticated clients on complex matters.
• Strong commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent German and English language skills; additional languages are an advantage.
• The interpersonal skills required to operate successfully at partnership level.
• A collaborative approach and genuine interest in contributing to the firm’s wider development.
