JCW Group has partnered with a leading commercial real estate finance company to hire an Assistant Controller to join their accounting team in Plano, TX. In this role, you’ll produce standalone GAAP financial statements for the lending operating company and work through complex technical accounting areas. This role reports directly to the Controller and is a strong fit for someone in public accounting ready to move to industry, or who made that transition earlier and wants broader ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end close for the operating company
• Prepare standalone US GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules
• Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidation across legal entities
• Research and document complex technical accounting matters, and support reporting flowing up to the parent company

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Public accounting background, ideally at Accounting Manager level and looking to transition to industry, or a mix of public and industry experience
• Experience with complex technical accounting and financial reporting, with exposure to the SEC reporting process
• CPA highly preferred
