JCW is working with a global bank who are seeking a Credit Analyst to join a growing equipment finance platform. This individual will be responsible for underwriting small-ticket equipment finance lease and loan transactions across a range of industries and asset classes.

The ideal candidate will have experience underwriting both direct-originated and syndicated transactions, with exposure to commercial vehicles, construction equipment, machine tools, and other essential-use assets. This role requires strong financial analysis, sound credit judgment, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with key stakeholders throughout the underwriting process.

The Credit Analyst will ensure all transactions adhere to established credit policies and will also support ongoing portfolio management and credit risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite and structure small-ticket equipment finance lease and loan transactions.
  • Analyze new and existing customers through detailed financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit evaluation.
  • Prepare concise, well-reasoned credit memoranda and recommendations.
  • Support the structuring and negotiation of transaction terms and conditions.
  • Review credit and legal documentation and monitor ongoing asset and customer performance.
  • Evaluate creditworthiness for new, renewal, and extension transactions.
  • Partner with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the underwriting and approval process.
  • Assist with transaction closing and coordination with internal teams, clients, and legal counsel.
  • Ensure all lending decisions comply with established credit policies, procedures, and risk parameters.
  • Provide credit analysis and support for ongoing portfolio management activities.
  • Exercise independent judgment to identify, assess, and resolve non-routine credit and operational issues.
  • Support and, where appropriate, coordinate the workflow of junior analysts.
  • Contribute to process improvements and broader credit risk initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Approximately 2–5 years of relevant credit underwriting experience.
  • Prior experience in equipment finance, leasing, commercial lending, or a related credit environment.
  • Strong financial statement analysis and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Experience evaluating direct-originated and/or syndicated transactions is preferred.
